We provide a variety of services to help around the home, and to keep seniors stimulated and active.

Meal Preparation - Chopping and dicing, boiling, blending, baking…whatever your desire, we want to help you in the kitchen.

Gardening - We may not have green thumbs, but we love getting outside to rake, cut grass, weed, and plant when we can.

Laundry - This we are experts in. With active kids of our own, we have hours of practice. We'll clean and fold just right for you.

Away from Home

We help seniors get out, get things done, and keep engaged with their community and friends.

Walks - Do you want a walk in the park, one in the forest with the dog, or a walk in the mall on a cold winter day. We are happy to join you and pick a friend or two up along the way.

Dining Out - Lunch out at Tim's after a hair appointment? Sure, we would love to join you or ask a friend and we can run an errand for you while you catch up. Any occasion works for a meal out in our books.

Grocery Shopping - We keep the cupboards full by helping with, or doing the grocery shopping for our clients.

Anything Else? Appointments, Errands, Cultural Outings, Grocery Shopping, and Visiting Friends.

Do you want to catch your grandson's hockey game but don’t have a ride? How about your granddaughter's music recital? We can get you there to enjoy sharing these precious moments.

Meet our Leader, Andy McMurdo

Andy graduated from Western University (UWO) and took a full-time position at Coca Cola. She enjoyed corporate sales and the relationships she formed with her clients. After five years she left the corporate world to nurture and guide her 3 young kids. Now that Andy's kids are older and after some careful deliberation, acknowledging her aptitude with people, she launched Her Helping Hand.

Andy is a caregiver by nature. She has always enjoyed the company of seniors. As a young adult Andy was always keen to visit her grandma out of town and enjoyed hearing stories of her childhood in the early 1900’s. When her Nanny passed away she was happy to move in with her Pops to help him around the house, prepare meals, play gin rummy and keep him company. She is kind, caring and enthusiastic.

Andy enjoys the outdoors, exercise, and an active social life. She appreciates the importance of all these in every stage of our lives. She has been a volunteer fitness instructor for seniors with Meals on Wheels.
In this new chapter of her life, Andy hopes she can help you with the care for your parents…and some fun stuff too! She lives in Waterloo with her husband, three children, dog and two cats.
